Leeds United close to reaching agreement for Watford forward Ismaila Sarr
Leeds United are close to reaching an agreement for Watford forward Ismaila Sarr, as per Santi Aouna.
The French journalist wrote for Foot Mercato on 10 August that they are close to a “verbal agreement” to sign the 24-year-old striker.
Both the clubs are also in talks over sorting out contract details, and it seems it is progressing well.
However, his arrival at the Yorkshire club remains “conditional” on the departure of a player.
Aouna wrote on Twitter: “Leeds and Watford are close to a verbal agreement for Ismaila Sarr. Contract negotiations between the former Rennais and Leeds are also progressing. But his arrival in Leeds remains conditional on the departure of a player.”
Get it done
This has been a massive transfer window for the Whites, and it can get even better if they manage to land a striker before the end of the transfer window.
Andrea Radrizzani has made it clear that the club are actively looking to sign a new striker, but they are also cautious that it doesn’t hamper the growth of Joe Gelhardt.
The Whites have been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Arnaud Kalimuendo in recent months, but it seems he is off to joining Rennes.

It looks like Leeds have not wasted any time on it, and they have moved quickly for Sarr, who impressed heavily for Watford last season.
The 24-year-old Senegal international has already opened his scoring account for Watford this season in the Championship, but a move to the Premier League could be too tempting to reject outright.
At the moment, the details of the deal are unknown, but it seems Leeds are doing everything they can to bring him to Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, it’s been confirmed that this player has agreed to quit Elland Road.
