Leeds United close in on major behind-the-scenes announcement, confirms Jesse Marsch

Jesse Marsch has confirmed that Leeds United should announce a new first-team coach in the coming days with them seemingly close to ironing out the details.

Mark Jackson left the Whites in order to take charge of MK Dons, leaving the senior side a man down in the coaching department.

Leeds had the choice of not replacing him, but it’s understood that Marsch’s backroom team will have a new addition soon.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post on 3 January, “I think we’re close. So we’ll probably make an announcement in a couple of days.”

Needed

Jackson was an important part of the youth setup and then was promoted to the senior team and did exceptionally well there too.

There’s a reason why a club in League One came to offer him the number one job and we wish him the best of luck.

However, it’s now very important for Leeds to sign a replacement and we’re sure that Marsch will have some names in mind he would want to bring in.

He’s got experience working in Leipzig and Salzburg and we’ll be really surprised if it’s someone who’s not got close links to the American.

Victor Orta also may have some coaches in mind and it remains to be seen if the new appointment is someone of the club’s choice or if Marsch has the final say.

The American has gotten a number of his allies on board who have helped him implement the style of play he’s wanted at Elland Road.

An announcement is nigh in the coming days so it remains to be seen who the club are going to bring in.

In other Leeds United news, a headline-making player who is linked with a move to Elland Road desperately wants a Premier League transfer in January.
