Leeds United chief Rob Price joins Derby County – Done Deal

Leeds United Head of Medicine and Performance Rob Price has said goodbye to Elland Road, as per Adam Pope.

The BBC Sports broadcaster shared a screenshot of Price’s LinkedIn page via his official X (21 June).

Price has updated his bio, which now reads that he is the Sports science and Medical Lead at Derby County Football Club as of June 2024.

It brings to an end Price’s six-year stay at Elland Road.

Leeds United set for plenty of change on and off the pitch this summer

After failing to earn promotion back to the Premier League, supporters and officials at Elland Road would have been bracing themselves for plenty of changes on the pitch.

Players will need to be sold, with big-name stars such as Crysencio Summerville perhaps likely to leave Elland Road.

However, it looks as if the club will also have to respond to some changes within the backroom staff at Thorp Arch as well.

Price will now need replacing, something which won’t be easy considering the job he did while working for the Whites.

He was influential in supporting Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw as they recovered from complicated long-term injuries.

In addition, Price was in charge of the club’s medical department during the Covid-19 pandemic.

And after stints with Hull City and Liverpool, Price is now set to undergo a fresh challenge with the Rams.

He will no doubt be missed behind-the-scenes.
