Leeds United CEO reveals that the club have had offers for many of their top players

Leeds United chief Angus Kinnear has revealed that the club have received many offers for their top players this summer.

Speaking on the Square Ball podcast, Kinnear revealed that the Whites had rejected all offers and requests about these players as they intend to keep the core of their squad together.

He doesn’t name who these players are but describes them as “marquee”, which suggests that the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford, and Raphinha have probably all been the subject of interest at some point.

He said: “This summer, we’ve received a number of firm expressions of interest and some offers for players that would be perceived as our marquee talent.

“We’ve received offers for players at the level below that, but even the level below that is in the tens of millions.

“None of them [bids] have been entertained; no discussions have taken place; no negotiations have taken place.”

Defiant stance from Leeds.

Although the Whites haven’t made that many first-team additions, it appears as if they have absolutely no intention of letting any of their star players go.

This is an admirable stance to take, and though it might not get that much credit, it is impressive to just simply shut down any and all talks for their star players.

This group sealed a ninth-placed finish in the Premier League last season, and they should be given the opportunity to build on that rather than dismantle the squad and rebuild.

So, it is great to hear that Kinnear and Leeds have no intention of selling these star players, and we look forward to seeing the likes of Raphinha and Phillips continue to improve under Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds deserve great credit for adopting this policy, and hopefully, it proves successful.
