Leeds United cancel events at Thorp Arch today as Javi Gracia set to be named manager
Leeds United have cancelled their events at Thorpe Arch on Tuesday, 21 February as they look set to announce Javi Gracia as their new manager, according to Adam Pope.
The Whites have struggled in their search for Jesse Marsch’s successor at Elland Road since sacking him earlier this month, with moves for the likes of Carlos Corberan, Andoni Iraola and Arne Slot all falling through for varying reasons.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday (20 February) that the West Yorkshire club had opened talks with former Watford manager Gracia about taking the position in the Elland Road dugout.
BBC Sports broadcaster Pope has now updated fans via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday morning (21 February), writing: “Leeds United set to announce Javier Gracia as new head coach it seems.
“Events and activities at Thorp Arch have been cancelled today as United prepare to bring in Jesse Marsch’s successor.”

Leeds’ search for a new manager has been an absolute farce, and it finally seems like they are set to get a manager in place for the relegation dogfight that inevitably awaits.
After the 1-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park a change was needed quickly, and unfortunately for Michael Skubala he simply doesn’t have the ability to lead the side away from the clutches of relegation.
There was a lot of anger directed at the board at Goodison Park and it seems like they have reacted as quickly as possible, with Gracia now likely to take the reins.
The former Watford manager never quite got the credit he deserved during his spell at Vicarage Road after taking the club to an FA Cup final.
The club could do much worse than Gracia, and he looks like a steady pair of hands to match those of the likes of Sean Dyche, Steve Cooper and David Moyes with the clubs who surround Leeds in the table.
