Leeds United, Liverpool, Newcastle and Brighton are reportedly among a host of clubs keen on signing Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott this summer.

According to 90 Min [28 April], the other clubs keen on the 19-year-old are Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Everton with an exit on the cards.

While he’s not been reported as a Manchester City target, their manager Pep Guardiola is understood to be a fan and has labelled the Guernsey-born talent as “unbelievable”. [Sun]

Battle heats up

The teenager is on the radar of Newcastle, Brighton and Liverpool – all three clubs competing to finish in the top four.

Despite his age, it seems like he’s ready for the jump up and become a first-team player at a Premier League side even though he’s been a regular for Bristol just this season.

He has also been likened to Jack Grealish and that can explain why the Manchester City boss admires him although he plays in a more central role compared to the England international.

Leeds can do with a player who can offer legs in midfield and can contribute to goals as the current crop of midfielders aren’t really doing that.

However, any transfer hinges on whether or not the Whites are in the Premier League next season and who the manager is.

Scott’s been linked with a move to Elland Road for a while so he’s perhaps a target of the board and not any individual manager per se.
