Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa spotted at Manchester City stadium today
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has been spotted at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium today (Tuesday).
Leeds fan Tom Horner, who writes for VAVEL, visited the Man City ground and managed to spot Bielsa outside the stadium.
It remains to be seen why Bielsa was at the Etihad but the Leeds manager has done business with them in the past with Jack Harrison.
Leeds have also been linked with a move for City’s Venezuelan midfielder Yangel Herrera [El Gol Digital].
Talks for Herrera?
Bielsa is unlikely to have held face to face transfer talks with a club at their stadium – that seems a bit farfetched.
Victor Orta does all the talks and the presentations and if he was in talks with a Man City player or someone in charge of their transfers, it’s likely it would have been at a neutral location or via the phone or videocall.
According to Spanish news outlet El Gol Digital, Leeds are ready to pay £20.4million to sign 23-year-old central midfielder Herrera but his Copa America campaign with Venezuela was cut short due to a fractured lower leg.
It seems like a long shot for Leeds to sign him – but that didn’t stop the speculation from swirling on Twitter.
Bielsa could have been at the Etihad for pre-season discussions with Pep Guardiola or one of Man City’s coaches. Maybe he could have been finding out ways to beat Manchester United this weekend?
Or maybe Bielsa’s spy budget has been cut and he’s started doing it himself.
Who knows why the Leeds manager was at the Etihad today but ultimately, we doubt it’s worth reading into that much.
