Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch’s inspirational quotes brandished ‘nonsense’ by talkSPORT’s Gabby Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has brandished Jesse Marsch’s inspirational quotes as “nonsense” as Leeds United succumbed to a third Premier League defeat in a row.
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea ran out comfortable 3-0 winners after Dan James was shown a straight red card for a careless tackle on Mateo Kovačić.
Marsch had previously mentioned using motivational quotes to rouse his failing Leeds side, however, Agbonlahor was far from impressed with the idea.

Talking on talkSPORT breakfast on Thursday [12 May] Agbonlahor said: “There’s talk about him giving the players quotes before games, it’s not working, is it?
“What’s next? Put Gladiator on before the Brighton game.
“It’s not going to work, in this day and age players want the manager to give them inspiration from his words, not quotes.
“It’s nonsense.”
Something needs to click for Leeds
Leeds desperately need something to click in their relegation battle.
The Whites have lost three on the spin and have had two players sent off in that time.
Marsch’s side currently lie inside the bottom three, level on points with Burnley, but with a far worse goal difference.
Some kinder fixtures do sit on the horizon, with a home tussle against Brighton and a trip to Brentford to come.

With Burnley facing a tough test against Tottenham in their next fixture Leeds simply have to beat Brighton at Elland Road on Sunday [15 May].
They’re facing a Brighton side who are bang in form having beaten Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United in recent weeks.
Marsch will need to come up with a plan to reconnect this Elland Road crowd with their survival bid and provide a genuine belief that they can get a result from their next two matches.
It is highly unlikely that a point will be enough to ensure survival and Leeds have discovered their worst form of the season at the wrong time.
