Leeds United boss Javi Gracia does not pass critera for work permit, process less straightforward
Leeds United manager Javi Gracia reportedly does not pass the criteria in the legislation for obtaining an immediate work permit.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post [22 February], the process to officially hire him so that he’s allowed to take training is less straightforward due to him being shy of the months required in management over the last five years.
However, this does not mean that there are any concerns about him getting the work permit and he will now have to go through an exceptions panel due to rules brought in after Brexit.

Baffling
We’re surprised that the process to get work permits is such a tedious one and it should just be a formality given how many international players and coaches come to the Premier League.
That’s one of the main reasons why the league is so successful and this unnecessary red tape should be eliminated.
The government should certainly make exemptions for sports professionals as every game matters and they desperately want him to be in charge for the Southampton game.
We’re hoping that all gets done by Thursday at the latest so he can have two training sessions before he takes charge of the six pointer.

If he’s not able to conduct training, he’ll at least have a say on the team selection, but it’s not the same as being on the grass with the players.
This could mean Michael Skubala taking charge for another game for the Whites if Gracia’s still not granted his work permit.
