Leeds United board members would need to cough up cash to sign Charles De Ketelaere should Raphinha stay
Leeds United would need to find a new way of stumping up the cash to sign Club Brugges star Charles De Ketelaere if Raphinha is not sold, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist has reported that potentially a member of the Whites’ boardroom would need to pay up to bring the Belgian star to Elland Road.
Leeds are said to be going all out for De Ketelaere as their new striker, although face a tough battle from AC Milan to get a deal over the line this month.

Speaking on the Phil Hay Show on Friday morning [08 July], Hay shared how the Whites may need to come up with a new way of signing the Belgian superstar.
“In order to do someone like De Ketelaere, given his value, they’re going to need the Raphinha money,” he said.
“He’s an expensive signing, I say that ideally, they would want the Raphinha money. If they were doing De Ketelaere without selling Raphinha, they would need to find the cash from somewhere.
“Somebody would have to pony it up, i.e someone in the boardroom, so I think the way they’re looking at it at the moment, if Raphinha goes, and that still feels quite likely, that funds whatever else there are to be.”

49ers anyone?
This is where the Americans could really start to pick up hero status at Elland Road.
Paraag Marathe is the man you see in West Yorkshire when the 49ers come across, and Andrea Radrizzani could be in his ear now just in case more investment is needed.
Bringing De Ketelaere to Elland Road would be on the monster signing that would get everyone off their seats, even more than the six new arrivals already have.
Luis Sinisterra was the latest through the door, and his South American flair has got fans excited, but could he be the appetizer to one last final arrival?
It is no secret that De Ketelaere is one of the biggest wonders in Europe, and it would be a huge statement to beat a club like AC Milan to this one.
If it comes down to it, the board need to do all hey can to stump up the cash to get this one over the line.
