Leeds United board happy after Jack Harrison wage reveal in transfer
Leeds United had to tread carefully during the winter transfer window to avoid PSR breaches.
The Whites are extremely close to their spending limit and were very cautious in the market as a result, although fans weren’t too happy with that.
Daniel Farke’s side made just one senior signing, Facundo Buonanotte moving to Elland Road on loan from Brighton until the end of the season.
Leeds were finally able to offload Jack Harrison as well, and a new update on the winger’s contract will boost the West Yorkshire side to stay within financial regulations this year.

Leeds agree ‘pleasing’ wage deal regarding Jack Harrison
Harrison struggled for Leeds in the first half of the season following his return from Everton in the summer, clearly down the pecking order at Elland Road.
The 29-year-old started just one Premier League game for Farke’s side in the first six months of the campaign, and wasn’t accepted back by fans.
Midway through the winter transfer window, Harrison completed a loan move to Fiorentina.
The Serie A side have an option to buy the winger at the end of the season for around £6million.
According to The Athletic, the vast majority of Harrison’s salary will be paid by Fiorentina while he is on loan in Italy.
It is said to be a very “pleasing” outcome for the Leeds hierarchy, as it will give them slightly more breathing room regarding PSR.

Can Leeds survive with their current squad?
By getting most of Harrison’s salary off their wage bill, it likely freed up funds for Leeds to put towards the loan signing of Buonanotte.
However, the Whites were unable to get any more incomings over the line, meaning that Farke has to work with what he already has.
Leeds currently sit six points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, and look to be in a good place to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

Despite the lack of business over the last month, Farke will still be confident that he has more than enough quality in his squad.
Attention now turns to the clash with Nottingham Forest on Friday night, in what is a huge game in Leeds’ fight for survival.
