Leeds United board and Jesse Marsch on disastrous collision course

The Leeds United board and Jesse Marsch are on a collision course if the American doesn’t improve results fast, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The report claims that Marsch will evidently be given the game against Manchester United on 8 February to try and save his Leeds United job.

Nevertheless, with two wins from 17 games and the club lingering three points above the relegation zone, things simply aren’t good enough in West Yorkshire.

“Where to now? Marsch was turning his focus to Old Trafford within minutes of full-time in Nottingham, evidently believing he will be given that game, at least, by the board,” as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post. (5 February)

“Whatever their preferred direction of travel, though, they can be in no doubt that a great swathe of the fanbase is no longer on board.

“Perhaps Marsch can still lead this club to a better place but almost a year into his tenure they’re not where they need to be and unless results change, and soon, he and the Elland Road hierarchy will find themselves on a collision course.”

The end is nigh.

Marsch’s record speaks for itself and as fans chanted for his sacking at full-time against Nottingham Forest it seems the American has well and truly lost the supporters.

This Leeds United team is far too good on paper to be embroiled in a relegation scrap and has the talent to succeed on every front in the Premier League.

Things are just starting to turn a little bit toxic in West Yorkshire and this is a clear sign if any, that things must change fast.

There comes a point where the American’s enthusiasm and positive attitude come across as delusional and for every good performance the Whites are putting in, no points are being gathered.

The Premier League is a results game after all and this is how managers and teams are remembered, not by how much possession and chances they had during games.

Marsch is a nice guy, no one is denying that and every fan wanted him to succeed at Elland Road, however, the meaningless optimistic sound bites are becoming an all too familiar sound.
