Leeds United backed to survive relegation by BBC pundit Micah Richards
Leeds United will be nervously watching Thursday’s (19 May) Premier League games with big relegation implications in play for both Burnley and Everton.
The Whites currently sit one point above the drop zone but they only have one game left to play (away at Brentford) while both the Toffees and the Clarets have a game in hand.
Jesse Marsch’s side grabbed a critical point at home to Brighton at the weekend which dragged them above Burnley at the bottom but they might need a result in the capital to guarantee their safety.

Micah Richards, who was born in Leeds, is confident they will stay up though despite the extra game that their rivals have in their back pocket.
“Maybe it’s the Yorkshireman in me but I think Leeds will do it,” Richards said on the BBC’s Monday Night Club.
“Something in me just tells me. That vital point. Did you see Gelhardt’s run? He turned into Messi for five seconds. It just gives them that spirit. I think they can do it, I really do.”
Waiting game
Marsch and his Leeds United players will be very attentively watching Thursday’s action but all they can do is wait and see what results transpire so they then know what they need to do at Brentford.

They might try to avoid finding out or watching but you just know that majority won’t be able to resist it but they can’t let it affect their preparations for ‘Survival Sunday’.
No matter what results come to fruition on Thursday, Leeds just need to try and win and the Brentford Community Stadium and hope that it will be enough, rather than get bogged down in permutations.
Three points could be enough to seal safety without any input from the other teams in the fight or it could ramp the pressure upon the likes of Everton and Burnley to match our result.
Whether we stay up or go down though, it won’t validate what has been a really poor season and some big changes in the playing squad and perhaps even backroom staff is in order this summer.
In other Leeds United news, Jesse Marsch was seething at something that happened after the 1-1 draw v Brighton at Elland Road.
