Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto may force January transfer amid Crysencio Summerville form

As the January transfer window approaches in two months, Leeds United are facing a dilemma in the form of two talented wingers in Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville.

The situation has been exacerbated by the extended injury layoff of exciting prospect Gnonto, which has allowed Summerville to seize the opportunity and showcase his potential.

Jaidon Anthony also joined on transfer deadline day so the Whites have plenty of options in that area

The 21-year-old Dutch winger has not only proven his capabilities but also demonstrated his readiness to contribute to Daniel Farke’s side on either flank.

In the game against Huddersfield Town on 28 October, Summerville scored two goals and provided two assists en route to an impressive 4-1 victory.

Gnonto, who’d want to win back his spot in the Italy playing eleven, will be behind him in the pecking order and Anthony too.

The teenager is unlikely to start ahead of Dan James on the left either and there is a chance that he looks for an exit in January.

With his career development in mind and also the fact that he was on the cusp of leaving in the summer, Gnonto may be considering his options in search of more playing time.

While Gnonto’s potential departure would be a loss for the club, it might also be in his best interest to explore opportunities that offer him more playing time and development and see if he can fetch a decent fee that can then be used to strengthen the side.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that big European clubs have been keeping tabs on a Whites player for a while and are still willing to sign him.
