Leeds United still want Lorient boss Regis Le Bris amid Daniel Farke development
Leeds United are still considering Lorient boss Regis Le Bris to be their new head coach, according to French journalist, Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
The Guardian reported on Friday 30 June that Leeds were set to announce Daniel Farke as their new boss, with the former Norwich chief wanting to take over on Monday 3 July.
However, Toubache-Ter, who has previously written for L’Equipe, has claimed the 47-year-old is still on Leeds’ radar.
“Leeds are attacking Lorient again to secure the services of their coach, Régis Le Bris,” he wrote (via Twitter, 1 July).
Dragging on
This process is really dragging on now.
It feels as if the EFL ratification for the 49ers’ takeover is having an impact on Leeds’ preparations for the 2022/23 season; even new bosses are being linked to the Elland Road hot seat when Farke is the clear favourite.
The German would be a safe pair of hands at Elland Road. He’s achieved promotion twice before and knows exactly what’s needed to get out of the Championship.
We need tried and tested and that’s exactly what the 46-year-old is. He plays a decent brand of high-octane football and has the success to back it up.

There’s an opportunity for a significant reset to take place.
A new ethos and long-term plan can be implemented. Obviously, relegation has its financial implications but the prospect of starting afresh in the second tier is an exciting one for the fanbase.
Anything other than automatic promotion will be classed as a failure. The pressure is certainly on Farke, but he’s more than capable of delivering.
In other Leeds United news, the club are set to react to an impending Elland Road exodus with “ambitious” incoming transfer plans.
