Leeds United are still trying to sign Hwang Hee-Chan in deadline-busting move

Leeds United are now trying again to sign Wolves forward Hwang Hee-Chan in a late deadline-day move, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

The Sky Sports journalist shared the major news live-on-air after the Whites missed out on Bamba Dieng at Marseille, who is now set to join Nice.

Solhekol admitted that a move is unlikely as things stand with the deadline now edging towards 11 pm, but something is being set up as people in negotiations have said.

Speaking live on Sky Sports on Thursday evening (01 September), as shared by Football Daily, Solhekol shared the major news that a move could still happen.

“The Leeds situation is, we know they’ve been looking for a forward,” he said.

“Another player they were trying to sign is Hwang, the Wolves striker, he is a player they’ve been interested in. We’ve just got a message to say, we were asking a question, is there any chance now Leeds would go for him, that they’ve missed out on Bamba Dieng.

“Some people involved in the negotiations have said, they’re trying, they are trying to set something up with Leeds. I’m not sure it’s going to happen as it’s very, very late in the day.”

Get it done.

Leeds need to throw the kitchen sink at this one.

Hwang has that Premier League experience, and Jesse Marsch knows him inside and out from their time together at RB Salzburg earlier in their careers.

People in negotiations sharing the news show that talks are certainly going off non-stop right now ahead of a potential green light to get him to West Yorkshire as soon as possible.

Leeds have seen an enquiry already batted away by Wolves, but now they are desperate, so the odds are high that they will be able to pay over the odds.

If an offer of more than £20million comes in, surely the Molineux club would not say no given they have signed Goncalo Guedes and Sasa Kaljdzic in this window already.

This is now one to watch as we push for a desperate last-gasp addition before the 11 pm deadline which is creeping up far too quickly for our liking.

In other Leeds United news, a four-year contract was set to be signed as personal terms were sorted for a new striker signing today at Elland Road
