Leeds United to announce new staff member in a couple of days - Jesse Marsch
Jesse Marsch has stated that a Leeds United announcement will be made in a couple of days over the replacement of his assistant Mark Jackson, according to BBC journalist Adam Pope.
Jackson left his coaching role at the Whites to take on the head coaches role at MK Dons in his first senior managerial job in the game.
Pope has relayed Marsch’s comments surrounding a replacement for Jackson from the head coach’s pre-match press conference for the FA Cup clash v Cardiff.
“Still no replacement for assistant Mark Jackson,” revealed Pope on Twitter. (17 January, 1:07 PM)
“Jesse Marsch says still ‘a couple of days away’ from announcing.”
Will Marsch hang on?
There’s a certain unease surrounding Elland Road at the moment and Marsch’s frankly poor record isn’t doing him any favours whatsoever.
Yes, Leeds United have played some attractive attacking football but points haven’t been put on the board and the same defensive frailties Marcelo Bielsa faced still wreak havoc.
The coming weeks will be telling whether or not the American has a future in West Yorkshire, he’s been back in the transfer market, and now he needs his new signings to perform.
The waiting on an appointment of an assistant coach may be a warning sign, however, to what may come Marsch’s way soon.
Maybe, the club are holding out on an appointment because they are unsure whether Marsch will be staying at the team much longer.
Let’s hold off on the sack talk until Sunday, but failure to beat Cardiff City and Brentford would ultimately call the curtains on Marsch’s time at Leeds United.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now seeking their third signing of the month with a European contract rebel in their sights.
