Leeds United announce fixture postponement at late notice with pitch unplayable
Leeds United have announced that their Under-21 Premier League 2 clash with Manchester United has been postponed.
The young Whites were due to take on their rivals on Friday 13 February, but the weather has seen that fixture called off, according to the official Leeds website.
The Elland Road club claimed on 13 February that a pitch inspection deemed the playing surface to be unplayable due to the recent conditions in Yorkshire.
They stated that the clash will be rescheduled with an announcement set to be made in the near future.

How are Leeds Under-21s getting on this season?
Leeds Under-21s are sitting 22nd in the Premier League 2, with 14 points from their 13 matches so far.
Scott Gardner’s side have won four, drawn two and lost seven games so far this season, and could have risen to 18th with victory over the Red Devils.
| Position | Played | GD | Points |
| 22. Leeds | 13 | -5 | 14 |
| 23. Norwich | 12 | -8 | 12 |
| 24. Newcastle | 12 | -8 | 12 |
| 25. Birmingham | 13 | -14 | 12 |
| 26. Blackburn | 13 | -12 | 11 |
They could drop to 25th, if results do not go their way, while they are not playing due to the postponement.

Why postponement could be a good thing for Daniel Farke
The postponement could be good news for Daniel Farke, as it may allow him to make more changes to his squad for the FA Cup clash with Birmingham City, than he had originally planned.
His focus will be on keeping the LS11 outfit in the top-flight, and he can now rest more first-team players, as more youth talents will be available, so that they are fresh for the Premier League campaign.
Obviously, he needs to be careful not to throw too many young players in at the deep end, and throw the game away, as progression to the fifth round would be the best outcome.
| Position | Played | GD | Points |
| 8. Bristol City | 32 | +5 | 46 |
| 9. Southampton | 32 | +4 | 46 |
| 10. Birmingham City | 32 | +4 | 46 |
The German needs to find the right balance between the young players and the senior regulars for the clash with the Championship outfit, rather than trusting too many of his academy stars to try and get the job done.
The postponement gives him more options to choose from though, so it is ultimately beneficial for the 49-year-old, as he will be able to hand out debuts if he chooses to.
Whether he takes advantage or sticks with an experienced team, remains to be seen, but it will be nice to have more talents to select from, for the contest.
