Leeds United: Andrea Radrizzani takeover hits rocks as disputes emerge
Andrea Radrizzani’s takeover of Sampdoria has hit the rocks with the Leeds United chief reluctant to make a forced capital increase at the soon-to-be Serie B club, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Sky Sports journalist has revealed (via his personal Twitter account, 30 May) that Radrizzani could issue new shares in order to rebalance the financial structure at the club.
At present, an agreement between Radrizzani and Massimo Ferrero doesn’t seem possible by the end of Tuesday. The club will be docked four points at the start of next season if wages aren’t paid by the end of 30 May.

In other Leeds United news, the club are expecting a relegation release clause for one player to be triggered this summer.
Priorities
Has Radrizzani forgotten where his priorities lie? The Leeds chief needs to focus on what is happening at Elland Road. Quick decision-making is required. Clarity is needed over the 49ers’ takeover, a sporting director should be hired and a decision on the manager needs to be made.
However, Radrizzani’s focus appears to be firmly fixed on the crippled Serie B side. Surely his attention should be fixed on ensuring an easy way out of Leeds United. His absence on Sunday was a bad look. The fans want some sort of information – the owner being absent for such a huge game is telling.

The sooner the 49ers takeover the better for everyone concerned. The Championship looks set to be back to its brutal best next season. There are at least nine or ten teams that will have a genuine chance of automatic promotion.
There’s also a lot at stake for the likes of Leeds, Southampton and Leicester. The parachute payments will soon dry up and we’ve seen the consequences of overspending in recent years.
