Leeds United and Juventus negotiations for Weston McKennie transfer in full swing
Leeds United are in full swing in negotiations with Juventus for midfield maestro Weston McKennie but there are still some steps to go, according to Calciomercato.
The report claims that the initial loan fee Leeds United are offering the Old Lady of Turin is now beyond €5million [£4.4m] but this still might not be enough.
Calciomercato shared that the overall fee for the permanent move of around £26m to £30m doesn’t scare Leeds United and this is a price the Whites are happy to pay.

“Because while opening up to the hypothesis of a loan, at Juve there is no moving away from the claim of a conditional but almost guaranteed obligation,” as quoted by Calciomercato. (27 January)
“On the contrary, Leeds remains firm on the offer with the right to buy out, even if in the past few hours the will to get serious has been reaffirmed by raising the initial fee for the onerous loan even beyond 5 million. Steps forward, therefore, which are not enough for now.
“Not a problem of overall valuation, between 30 and 35 million that of Juve, a figure that does not scare Leeds. Provided that the investment is considered fair. And this is where the problems begin.”
“All or nothing, therefore, Leeds informed, the match is still on. To get to the white smoke there are still some steps left, Juve don’t want to or can’t take them (at least for now), Leeds are thinking about it.

Getting somewhere?
Leeds United evidently will be throwing all they can at Juventus in their pursuit of McKennie and it’s more than likely the Whites will get this one over the line.
The Italian club seem to be playing hardball over some of the logistics of the deal, something that will hopefully be ironed out before the looming deadline day.
Being in the big-spending Premier League never helps matter in today’s market and Leeds United could be falling victim to this right now.
There is nothing worse than a potential transfer going down to the wire and unfortunately for anxious Leeds fans, this one could be about to do just that.
Fortunately, McKennie looks to have given the green light to move to Elland Road which will only help matters in this transfer saga.
And let’s face it, Juventus need to raise all the cash they can get at the moment to get out of its sketchy financial situation.
