Leeds United and Bournemouth in talks with agent of Fenerbahce defender Bright Osayi-Samuel

Leeds United and Bournemouth have already stepped up their transfer plans for next season as they begin to work on targets already.

According to Turkish media outlet Aspor [28 May], the Whites and the Cherries have opened talks with the agent of Fenerbahce defender Brighton Osayi- Samuel.

It’s understood that Fenerbahce pressed the button for the deal ahead of the summer transfer window and the 25-year-old expects to leave the club.

Interesting

If Leeds are genuinely interested in signing a right-back who can play as a right winger as well, it means that they’re expecting exits in that area.

Who will be shown the door, remains to be seen but bringing the Nigeria international back to England may not be the worst plan in the world.

However, what complicates Leeds’ quest is the fact that they’ve been relegated from the Premier League and need to reconsider their approaches.

If Bournemouth are willing to play him regularly, it makes sense for him to go there as he would get top-flight football instead of playing in the Championship.

It remains to be seen whether or not Osayi-Samuel considers moving to Elland Road, given the uncertainty surrounding the club.

They still have to sort out their manager and sporting director and the ownership may or may not go ahead so there are a lot of unknowns at the moment.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
