Leeds United: Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling share ‘unbelievable’ admission after Leicester win
Leeds United and their supporters were “unbelievable” at Elland Road during their massive Championship win over Leicester City, according to Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling.
Daniel Farke’s side cut the gap to the Foxes at the top of the table to seven points with a superb 3-1 win on Friday (23 February) thanks to second-half goals from Connor Roberts, Patrick Bamford and an own-goal from Wout Faes.
While the Whites stars have earned plenty of plaudits from pundits for their performance, McCoist was quick to praise the fans inside Elland Road for the unbelievable atmosphere they created on Friday night.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (26 February, 6:15) he said: “Friday night against Leicester, what a comeback that was. That place was rocking as well! You couldn’t believe it, could you? The fans at Elland Road are absolutely on fire, it’s amazing.”
Stelling quickly agreed, saying: “They’d been played off the park for the entire game, but equally, you knew if Leeds scored they would go on and win. Because the fans there, they are unbelievable. It’s the classic cliche, they suck the ball in.”
Can Leeds United win the Championship with Elland Road support?
There are certain matches in the football calendar that can seemingly define a season and prove to be decisive in a campaign and Friday night’s win for Leeds United over Leicester could be exactly that.
Elland Road was rocking and the crowd played a huge part in the Whites’ win as it provided an atmosphere that the players were able to thrive off, especially after Roberts levelled the clash with his impressive strike.

When Leeds’ home ground is like that, it is so hard for away teams to win at Elland Road and that has been the case throughout the season and Farke’s tenure. The Whites don’t tend to lose matches at home.
Hopefully, Farke’s side can keep this habit up from now until the end of the season and if they do, Leeds could have enough in their ranks to be able to pip Leicester to the title and automatic promotion this season.
