Leeds United: Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil share new Leicester verdict live on talkSPORT
Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil have been left stunned by the form of Leeds United, although they insisted Leicester should have won the clash at Elland Road.
The Championship clash, which ended 3-1 in the hosts’ favour, saw Daniel Farke’s side win both of their games against the league leaders this season to help their promotion bid.
McCoist was stunned by Leeds’ home form in particular, but could not believe Leicester lost to the Yorkshire side as the battle for promotion remains ongoing.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [6 March, 07:28], McCoist was told of Leeds’ unbeaten run at Elland Road this season, and he responded simply: “Incredible.”
Brazil then shared: “The last game of the season, Southampton against Leeds, what about that? I watched the Leicester game, Leeds beat them but Leicester were good for over an hour.”
McCoist then responded: “Let’s be honest, I’m not for a minute going to say that Leeds stole it, but I bet Leicester could not believe they lost that game. I thought Leicester were excellent, then Leeds scored and you’re thinking they’re going to score again, and it ended up 3-1.”
Could Leeds United win the Championship?
After Leicester’s form slipped in recent weeks, while Leeds continued on their now-12-game unbeaten run in the Championship, suggestions began to emerge that they could challenge for the title, despite it having previously looked wrapped up.
However, the Foxes’ form recovered with a 1-0 win against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, and Farke’s men matched their rivals with the same result against a struggling Stoke side at Elland Road, with Daniel James scoring the winner.
That unbeaten home run for Leeds has provided the backbone to their impressive season so far, with the confidence going into every game at Elland Road knowing they can get a result a crucial part of their style of play.

That confidence and belief Farke has instilled in his side could well be what fires them to promotion, although with the top of the table proving as tight as it is, any two of the four competitive teams will have to settle for the playoffs.
