Leeds United: Alan Brazil bamboozled by Whites’ win over Hull City – ‘Beyond me’
Alan Brazil has been left bamboozled as Leeds United battled their way to a dramatic, late victory over Hull City at Elland Road on 1 April.
Liverpool loanee Fabio Carvalho cancelled out Sam Byram’s opener in the first half and the scores remained level until Whites marksman Crysencio Summerville scored from the penalty spot in the 88th minute.
Daniel James then wrapped up the win, scoring Leeds’ third deep into stoppage time.
And Brazil could not believe the result, which he compared to title-chasing Ipswich Town’s own last-gasp win over Southampton, saying on talkSPORT: “The day before, what a day that was, Ipswich’s last kick of the game.
“Then Leeds, how Leeds beat Hull is beyond me!”

Leeds displayed a quality that champions often possess, winning a close-fought game late on against Hull.
They did not produce a vintage Leeds performance at Elland Road, ceding the lion’s share of possession to the visitors and failing to control the game – but they were ruthless and incisive in front of goal, taking their chances superbly to ensure they still came away with all three points.
Unfortunately for Leeds, the standard of the top teams in the Championship this season is such that their champion-esque qualities have not been able to separate them from their title rivals Ipswich and Leicester City, with just two points between the trio – though the third-placed Foxes boast a game in hand.
The Whites will need to maintain their standards of excellence in their final six games – starting with Coventry City on 6 April – if they are to secure automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
