Leeds United agree seven-figure add-ons for Tyler Adams exit – Sky Sports journalist

The deal from Leeds United to sell Tyler Adams to Bournemouth is worth £23 million plus £1 million in add-ons, according to Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam.

The journalist reported via his personal Twitter account on Friday (18 August) that the player will undergo a medical today.

The 24-year-old joined Leeds from RB Leipzig last summer, and made 26 appearances in his debut season at Elland Road.

The American midfielder, however, missed the last 12 matches of the last Premier League season due to a hamstring injury.

“The Tyler Adams fee is believed to be £23 million + £1 million in add-ons,” McAdam wrote on Twitter. “Medical today in London.”

Bournemouth are getting a fantastic player on their hands in the form of Adams, who will be keen to recover from his lengthy injury as soon as possible and get out on the pitch.

The Cherries lost Jefferson Lerma to Crystal Palace earlier this summer, but have now found the perfect replacement in USA star Adams.

He only joined the Whites last summer on a long-term deal, but like many of his teammates from last season, it was perhaps inevitable that he would be moving on following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

Unfortunately for the Whites, however, Adams is leaving permanently, as opposed to the likes of Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca among others, who have only left temporarily.

The silver lining for the Whites is, of course, the fee that they will receive for Adams, with that money then able to be spent on new recruits at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, EFL protocol means one Whites man cannot play in their Championship clash against West Brom on Friday.
