Leeds United agree deal with UD Ibiza for permanent transfer of Mateusz Bogusz to Los Angeles Galaxy
Leeds United have agreed a deal with UD Ibiza to sell Mateusz Bogusz to Los Angeles Galaxy with both sides set to profit, Matteo Moretto reports.
The Polish midfielder has been on loan at the second tier Spanish side over the past two seasons, having made just three senior appearances for the Whites since his arrival from Ruch Chorzow in 2018.
A report from Sportowe Fakty on 30 January had suggested it was LAFC who were interested in the 21-year-old, but it appears that their city rivals are the ones who have swooped in.

Italian transfer journalist Moretto reported on Twitter on Monday night (20 March): “Leeds and Ibiza reach an agreement for the transfer of Mateusz Bogusz to MLS and he will sign for Los Angeles Galaxy.
“The Ibizan club will receive a good amount for his transfer, also a part for the English club. MLS continues to bet on young talent.”
Departure
Clearly the ship had sailed on an Elland Road career for Bogusz so a permanent solution to his future will be of benefit to both player and club.
It is somewhat of a surprise that Ibiza are in line to get an apparently sizeable chunk of the profit, so either the Whites have decided to jump at the chance to get a deal done or the offer was a big one for a player who isn’t playing in the top flight allowing both Leeds United and the Spanish side to suitably benefit.
In some ways it is money for nothing at this point for Leeds since he has been out on loan now for the best part of three years.

Rather than Bogusz bump around from loan deal to loan deal until his Whites contract runs out it is a bonus to get a return now.
So assuming this report is accurate and the move goes through soon then it will close the book on a move to West Yorkshire that ultimately didn’t work out.
Any club has to gamble on young prospects and not all will turn into stars, but Bogusz has done well enough in 46 appearances in Spain, scoring six times and assisting seven more, to attract interest from across the Atlantic.
It is of course just the latest link between Elland Road and football in America, after all the US imports to the club and the departure of Bogusz’s namesake Mateusz Klich to DC United in January.
In other Leeds United news, there was “shock” in the BT Sport studio when they saw one man who was involved in chaos as the manager went crazy this week.
