Gabriel Agbonlahor singles out Patrick Bamford return as Leeds United top wish

Gabby Agbonlahor has shared what he thinks Leeds United need for Christmas ahead of their Premier League return on 28 December against Manchester City.

The former Villan reckons the Whites and Jesse Marsch need to get Patrick Bamford back in the action at Elland Road as soon as possible.

Speaking on the TalkSport EDGE app Agbonlahor revealed that Leeds United miss their “talisman” forward who has been suffering from multiple injuries this campaign.

“For Christmas, they need Bamford to get fit, been their talisman for a few a years,” said Agbonlahor to TalkSport EDGE.

Agbonlahor isn’t wrong, a fit and firing Bamford always helps matters in the forward departments at Leeds United and his return to full fitness is on the wish list of every Leeds United fan.

Never-ending woes.

Bamford has missed a number of games due to injury, which has disrupted his rhythm and affected his ability to contribute to the team.

And the forward’s never-ending woes have resulted in the club looking for more forward reinforcements once the January transfer window opens.

Unfortunately, Bamford’s injuries and constant games on the sidelines mean he can no longer be the go-to man for the Whites to score goals.

His once talismanic status is slowly fading away and whilst he may be able to play some part in the squad, it’s unlikely Marsch will give him starts once a new signing comes into Elland Road.

It’s still unclear who Leeds United will sign come January however, it needs to be a proven poacher with a track record of scoring multiple goals.

There are plenty of options on the market for the Whites to explore, but the fierce competition in transfer windows at the moment means they will have to act quickly.
