Tyler Adams heroic World Cup outings unveils painful Leeds United reminder

Tyler Adams’ heroic FIFA World Cup performances for the USA national team have been a stark reminder of a damning fact for Leeds United.

The midfield maestro was sent off in Leeds United’s last Premier League fixture before the World Cup break meaning he’ll miss the opening return fixture against Manchester City.

Journalist Beren Cross reminded fans of the “gut-wrenching” fact that the American will be unable to carry on his fine form into the Whites hardest fixture of the year.

“The most gut-wrenching aspect of Adams’s glittering sojourn is the reminder he won’t be available to Leeds in their next match,” said Cross as quoted by Leeds Live.

“The American’s red card at Tottenham Hotspur means he will be suspended for arguably the hardest home match of the season.”

Glittering.

It’s been nice to see Adams gaining some much-deserved plaudits for his ferocious and glittering World Cup outings for the USA national team.

The midfielder has led by example in the young and ambitious American setup, showing many traits that Whites fans will be drooling over back home.

The West Yorkshire outfit have certainly got a keeper in Adams and his name will no doubt be linked with numerous European juggernauts after his fantastic displays.

There’s nothing to suggest the 23-year-old wants to leave Elland Road just yet though and his assertive presence will be needed in Leeds’ engine room over the next few seasons.

He could perhaps be in with a shout of leading this young and bright Leeds team one day, why not? Especially if he’s already captaining his country.

Whatever the future holds for Adams, it’s a bright one, with luck, Leeds can reap the rewards of this.

In other Leeds United news, a first-team defender may not have long left at Elland Road after “Awful” footage emerges from this month, making a January transfer imperative.
