Leeds United ace Wilfried Gnonto did not join Freiburg on deadline day due to two conditions
Wilfried Gnonto ended up staying put at Leeds United beyond the transfer deadline despite interest from Freiburg, according to Bild.
The German newspaper reported on its website on Friday (1 September) that the Italian’s unwillingness to move along with Leeds’ demands, meant that the deal was a non starter.
The 19-year-old, despite being linked with an exit all summer, managed to stay at Elland Road past the deadline.

Good news
Luis Sinisterra ended up leaving the club for Bournemouth and that was a bitter blow as it seemed like he would be staying.
However, they got Jaidon Anthony who at least guarantees his availability – something which the Colombian did not.
Had Gnonto left too, Daniel Farke would clearly be a furious man and thankfully for the club, that did not happen.

It’s now time to build this side around the forwards as the likes of Gnonto, Joel Piroe, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter are all quality attackers.
They can fire Leeds to the Premier League again and it’s on Farke to ensure that he finds a way to get at least three of them ticking in the same eleven.
The Sheffield Wednesday game might not have been ideal but Farke himself is figuring out the best way to get his attackers to thrive.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites tabled multiple enquiries to sign a multi-million international winger ahead of the transfer deadline.
