Leeds United ace Rodrigo jeopardises international call-up amid recent transfer development
Rodrigo looks set to seal his Leeds United exit this summer but a move to Sevilla reportedly seems to be ruled out.
According to [29 June], the financial demands for his move to the Spanish club are not something that both parties agree upon.
This has led to clubs in Qatar and the Middle East show an interest in the in-demand 32-year-old attacker.
However, LeedsLive’s Beren Cross reported that any move to the Middle East will jeopardise his chances of playing for Spain again.
He said, “Speculation about a move to Al-Rayyan SC in Qatar this week would make financial sense for the striker, but playing in the Qatar Stars League would surely kill any hopes of an elite tournament with his country.”
This makes complete sense as firstly the level of the league is nothing compared to what countries face at major competitions.

EURO 2024 is the next big international tournament and Rodrigo’s recent call up to the national side suggests that he’s still among the top attackers.
He’s also proving to be solely behind the money rather than showing he’s still good enough to compete against the best teams in the best leagues.
Even for a struggling Whites side, he managed to grab goals in double figures in the Premier League which clearly shows that he’s got what it takes to do well elsewhere.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
