Leeds United ace Marc Roca makes ‘great financial effort’ to quit Elland Road as deal official soon

Leeds United ace Marc Roca is making a “great financial effort” to move to Spanish side Real Betis, according to El Chiringuito.

The publication noted that the Whites midfielder will be officially announced at his new outfit in the coming weeks.

The loan deal to bring the 26-year-old Spaniard to the La Liga club will include a purchase option, El Chiringuito added.

“The transaction will include a purchase option and will become official in the coming weeks,” El Chiringuito posted on Twitter.

“Marc Roca has made a great financial effort to come to Betis.”

Temporary or permanent farewell?

Roca is one of several Leeds players who had perhaps been expecting a summer exit long ago given the club’s lengthy struggles in the Premier League.

The Spaniard impressed at times during the season following his arrival from German giants Bayern Munich last summer, but he wasn’t always the first-choice option in midfield.

That issue alone may have been enough to force him to look elsewhere for minutes on the pitch next season, but the club’s relegation looks to have pushed him over the line.

Given his potential and the fact he played for Bayern Munich not so long ago, Roca will not want to be lining out in England’s second division, even if it meant a certain starting role week in, week out.

His time in white is rapidly coming to an end, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will make a temporary or permanent exit to Real Betis.
