Leeds United ace Luke Ayling sends Watford support ahead of Burnley visit

Leeds United ace Luke Ayling has sent Watford some support on Twitter ahead of their crunch relegation clash against Burnley on Saturday [April 30] afternoon.

Jesse Marsch’s side currently sits in 16th place in the Premier League, boasting a five-point gap on the relegation zone but only three points from the Clarets in 17th.

The Turf Moor outfit travel to Vicarage Road with a win against Roy Hodgson’s side enough to see them go level on points with the Whites.

Ayling liked the Hornets’ tweet as Ray Lewington sent the players a rallying cry in the absence of Hodgson who will miss the game through illness.

All hands on deck.

Marsch looked to have lifted Leeds far enough away from the relegation zone to secure safety but they need to be very careful of a late scare.

Five points in a sizeable gap to the drop zone but Everton’s and Burnley’s fight for survival has seen both sides pick up a respectable amount of points in recent weeks and which has somewhat dragged the Whites back into the mix.

That isn’t to anyone’s fault at Elland Road because Leeds have been quite good and are unbeaten in their last five games.

It would have been nicer to have picked up some wins on that run but the main thing is that the team are putting points on the board, not losing and performing well.

The players will have one eye on what their relegation rivals are doing and with Watford dead in the water – it is crucial they beat Burnley today and the same goes for Everton against Chelsea.

Marsch could do without the end of the season becoming tighter than it really needs to be.
