Leeds United ace Dan James lets Daniel Farke down as stat emerges v Sunderland

Leeds United attacker Dan James endured a pretty quiet and ineffective first half against Sunderland on 12 December at the Stadium of Light.

The Wales international, who started on the right flank, struggled to get involved in proceedings and that certainly will not please Daniel Farke.

According to Sofascore, even Illan Meslier had more touches than the 26-year-old and despite his recent good performances, he’s clearly letting his side down.

James touched the ball just 13 times all half while Meslier had 33 and even a better pass accuracy with 89 per cent to the attacker’s 71 per cent.

The Welshman was wayward with both the crosses he attempted and was not even on point with his dribbles – failing to take on anyone.

He even got dribbled past twice and lost 66 per cent of his ground duels so he wasn’t even offering too much off the ball for the Whites.

Jaidon Anthony and Wilfried Gnonto are both on the bench and will offer some firepower and end product in the final third.

James clearly does not seem to be at it and it remains to be seen if Farke persists with him for another 15 minutes or decides to axe him at the break itself.

Gnonto may not be fully match fit but he has made appearances off the bench and could be ready to come on in the second period in order to turn things around for the visitors.
