Leeds United 49ers takeover ‘imminent’ as Elland Road talks held – Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson believes the 49ers’ takeover of Leeds United is now imminent as Andrea Radrizzani edges closer to the Elland Road exit.

The Daily Mail reported on 5 June that Leeds’ minority shareholders could complete a deal this week after productive talks took place on Monday.

Robinson believes the uncertainty over the potential takeover hasn’t helped everyone concerned in recent months.

“I suspect the deal for the takeover will still be done. I am sure talks have been ongoing. It’s been hanging over the club for a long time now and it hasn’t helped,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“Everything now points to the takeover still being in place and that something will happen imminently.”

It’s believed a resolution could well be found by the end of this week, with the 49ers valuing Leeds at around the £170million mark following relegation to the Championship.

It’s understood Leeds’ managerial search will now ramp up after the takeover is completed in the coming days, with the search for Sam Allardyce’s successor still ongoing.

The board have been sounding out candidates, with the likes of Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker reportedly under consideration.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a Whites senior player is now set to leave the club at a discounted fee post relegation and will not be signing a new contract.
