Leeds United: 49ers Enterprises continue ‘major’ changes at Elland Road with new development
The 49ers Enterprises are continuing to make “major” changes at Leeds United, with the hiring of Martin Diggle as the new academy manager the latest, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist reported on 22 February that Leeds have undergone structural changes internally since the arrival of the new owners in the summer, with those changes still taking place.
Diggle’s arrival comes following several academy staff changes, with Scott Gardner (under-21s manager), Stewart Downing (under-21s assistant manager), and Jordan Miles (head of recruitment) all brought in.
49ers Enterprises stamping their mark on Leeds United
When the 49ers took over from Radrizzani in the summer, it was clear to most that major changes needed to be made at Elland Road to put the club back on the path to achieving success both in the short and long term future.
With the success of the San Francisco 49ers, despite the team having lost the Super Bowl and therefore the spoils that come with that victory, the owners are more than capable of building the structures to achieve success.
The structural and staffing changes at the academy level have pointed to a new focus under the owners of developing young talent, the likes of Archie Gray, who could later be sold for huge profits.

It is this type of forward-thinking management that the owners have brought to Leeds, and with rumours circling about the possible redevelopment of Elland Road, they do not look likely to stop at that.
