49ers ready to spend £107m+ in Leeds transfer blitz despite Farke news
Daniel Farke’s future is in doubt, even though he has successfully guided Leeds United back to the Premier League.
On Wednesday, news emerged that the 49ers Enterprises are considering sacking Farke before spending next season in the top-flight.
Meanwhile, the Whites are readying themselves for a busy summer transfer window to survive in the Premier League.
Leeds clinched promotion back to the top tier with an emphatic 6-0 win over Stoke on Monday, with striker Joel Piroe notching four goals.

Leeds could spend more than £107m this summer amid Farke sack news
Farke twice led former club Norwich from the Championship to the Premier League, but never succeeded in the top tier with the Canaries, as he suffered relegation in 2020 before being sacked in 2021.
According to the Daily Mail [24 April, back page], Farke’s Premier League record has triggered anxiety among the 49ers, but Leeds are unlikely to sack him unless they can line up a replacement they think would be successful.
Opponent | Result |
Middlesbrough (A) | 0-1 W |
Preston (H) | 2-1 W |
Oxford (A) | 0-1 W |
Stoke (H) | 6-0 W |
The Mail also report that the Whites are expecting to need a bigger outlay than the £107million spent by Ipswich last summer.

Leeds should retain Farke
While Farke’s Premier League record is a cause for concern, he has been a successful Leeds manager so far, and guided the West Yorkshire outfit to the playoff final last term before winning automatic promotion this season.
The German deserves the opportunity to manage the Elland Road club in the top tier, especially now that the 49ers are prepared to spend big in the summer transfer window.
Leeds have more resources at their disposal than Farke’s former club, Norwich, and should allow the ex-Canaries boss to manage them in the Premier League after the summer transfer window.
Ultimately, the 49ers must consider the Whites’ long-term future in the top tier, hence the pressure that currently lies on Farke’s shoulders.
But without the 48-year-old’s successful stewardship this season, Leeds would not have won promotion to the Premier League this season.
Furthermore, Farke has not managed in the top flight since 2021, and could fare better this time around with yet another Championship promotion under his belt.
