Marcelo Bielsa was on his very best form at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Championship game against Wigan on Saturday.

First, he confirmed that his starting XI would be the same from the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest last week.

That means no starts for either Eddie Nketiah or Helder Costa.

Bielsa started by saying he couldn’t name the team as a fan had asked him not to, before saying “But between you and me, it’s going to be the same team”.

That means the starting XI v Wigan is as follows: Casilla; Douglas, White, Cooper, Dallas; Phillips; Harrison, Klich, Forshaw, Hernandez; Bamford.

He said Leeds had put in their best performance of the season against Forest, despite drawing, taking into account the number of chances his side had and how many they limited Forest to.

But he wasn’t finished there. Asked if he would be watching the new Amazon docu-series on Leeds (called Take Us Home), he had a one-word answer: “No”.

Finally, asked whether it was a headache that he could only name five of his six loanees in a matchday squad he said no and added, “The headache will be the day I forget about this rule”.

Leeds have had a decent start to the season and they’re currently favourites to win the title and return back to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

They’ve won one and drawn one in the league and they beat Salford 3-0 in the Carabao Cup.
