Leeds transfer state of play: Done deals, latest rumours, likely next signing
Leeds United are working behind the scenes to create a squad that can thrive in the Premier League.
The Whites were promoted to the top division as Championship winners, but it’s widely agreed that several new signings are needed to give the club a chance of avoiding relegation.
Below, MOT Leeds News rounds up the current state of play for Leeds during this summer’s transfer window.

Nmecha and Bijol are the first new signings through the door
Daniel Farke has already brought two new faces through the door at Elland Road.
Lukas Nmecha was the first signing of the summer. The German forward has spent the previous four seasons at Wolfsburg, firing in 19 goals in 73 appearances.
Before that, he was at Manchester City, although he only made two Premier League appearances under Pep Guardiola. Nmecha arrives at Elland Road on a free transfer after his Wolfsburg contract expired. He is 26 years old, and it will be hoped he can reach his peak form at Leeds.
Jaka Bijol is a Slovenian centre-half, signed from Udinese. He has 63 caps for his country, and has been praised as one of the best defenders in Serie A. The 6’3″ no-nonsense Balkan will add some steel to the Leeds defence. It’s thought that Leeds paid around £15million for him.

Muniz and Diarra linked with Leeds United moves
It seems as if Farke isn’t done searching for strikers, as reports suggest he’s ready to bid for Gonzalo Garcia.
The 21-year-old scored 25 goals in 36 games for Real Madrid’s B side last season, and has impressed during this summer’s Club World Cup. It may well be that he is the most likely next arrival at Elland Road.
Farke is also an admirer of Fulham winger Rodrigo Muniz. Leeds have reportedly had a £32million bid for Muniz rejected this summer, although it’s believed they could come back with a better offer.
Habib Diarra was a prominent target earlier this summer, although he looks set to sign for Sunderland instead.
Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara is another player on Leeds’ radar, although it’s now thought that the Turkish club are unwilling to do business for him in any circumstances.
