Leeds told Brendan Rodgers theirs for the taking as ambitious 49ers claim made
Leeds United have been told that former Liverpool and Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers would be the perfect man to replace Daniel Farke.
Farke is now under big pressure at Elland Road after seeing his side drop into the Premier League relegation zone.
Leeds lost 2-1 to Aston Villa on Sunday despite taking a first-half lead, with the result leaving them 18th in the table.
Farke looks set to remain in charge of Leeds for the West Yorkshire side’s next Premier League game against Manchester City, but with the likes of Rodgers waiting in the wings, he doesn’t have long to rectify the situation.

Brendan Rodgers would be happy with Leeds United owners
Rodgers is among the leading candidates to replace Farke if the 49ers decide that the German has taken the club as far as he can.
The Northern Irishman dramatically resigned from Celtic at the end of last month and has been consistently linked with a return to England in recent weeks.
Speaking on PLZ Soccer, former Scotland international Alan Rough believes that Rodgers ticks all the boxes for Leeds in terms of Premier League experience.
Rough said: “He ticks the Premier League box. He’s done it with Liverpool, very, very well. But the Leicester spell would tick a bigger box as far as Leeds United are concerned because they always think they should be up there.
“They definitely have money to spend, which [Rodgers] would be quite happy with. Leeds are a very, very big club with ambition, and they’ve got these owners behind them who don’t want to be where they are right now.”
Rodgers quit Celtic following a disagreement with the board regarding a perceived lack of backing in the transfer market.
If Leeds can guarantee the 52-year-old that they will give him the necessary funds to strengthen in the January window, then they should have no problem convincing him to take the position.

Brendan Rodgers has ability to guide Leeds to safety
With Leeds in real danger of Premier League relegation, the 49ers will have to prioritise experience if they do decide to replace Farke.
Rodgers has a track record of success in English football, specifically in the top flight, across spells at Swansea City, Liverpool and Leicester.
During his time in charge at the King Power Stadium, the former Celtic boss guided the Foxes to Europa League football as well as FA Cup success.
Due to his previous achievements and the fact that he is currently out of work, Rodgers stands out as the obvious candidate for Leeds if they want to give themselves the best chance of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship.
