Leeds to seal loan-to-buy deal for Junior Firpo, deal could be done this week – Smyth
Leeds United have been majorly linked with Barcelona defender Junior Firpo this week as the transfer window hots up.
Spanish outlet Sport have reported that the Whites have all-but-agreed a deal to sign the left-back, and it could be done within 48 hours.
That doesn’t look to be the case, although the signs are positive that Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa have found their man.

Graham Smyth has responded to those claims, and backed them up in the most part, with some small difference.
Rather than the £13million permanent deal suggested, it is believed that Leeds will instead look for a loan-to-buy deal.
It is reported that the deal may be announced by the end of the week, although signs are against it being confirmed as early as tomorrow.
Orta and Bielsa are said to have beaten the likes of AC Milan and Napoli to this signing should they get the deal over the line.

Wow.
What a move this could turn out to be for the Whites.
Most of the fan base is dreading the impending exit of Ezgjan Alioski this week, but this signing could make everyone quickly forget about that.
The 24-year-old has shined for Real Betis in recent times, and despite struggling at the Nou Camp, will arrive at Elland Road with great ability.
Imagine how he could look after training with Bielsa too, something that will clearly have been critical in these discussions.
Firpo is the perfect blend of attack and defence, having averaged 9.12 progressive carries per game last season according to StatsBomb.
They are incredible numbers, and he could be the perfect player for a team managed by Bielsa – we have to say, we are excited for this one.
