Leeds star could be the new James Milner later in his career – reliable journalist

LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross has backed Leeds United star Stuart Dallas to become the club’s version of James Milner later in his career.

Dallas, 28, has been a popular mention among fans when it has come to discussing who should be considered for the player of the season award this year.

The Northern Ireland international has played in a variety of different positions for Marcelo Bielsa, shining in both full-back roles, on both wings and even in the centre of the midfield.

Dallas’ versatility and ability to step up his game in his late 20s has led to reliable journalist Cross from saying he could be Leeds’ very own Milner.

“Dallas is 28 with three years left on his deal after the best season of his career. Has proven more robust than Ayling and Cooper with his injury record and as Forshaw put it last week, Dallas could be this club’s Milner in his latter years,” he said on the LeedsLive website.

Milner has been a top player since breaking through at Leeds and going on to have spells at Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Even though he is 34-years-old, he has been vital in helping Liverpool reach two Champions League finals, winning it last season, and being currently sat top of the Premier League.

He, like Dallas, has played in both full-back roles and in the centre of the midfield this season while spending most of his early career playing as a winger.

You can certainly see why he’s been dubbed to emulate Milner as he approaches his 30s.

In other Leeds United news, this ex-Whites midfielder was “delighted” to leave Elland Road.
