Leeds squad given day off today as report details COVID-19 update at Thorp Arch

The Leeds United has had the day off training today but are still going into Thorp Arch as usual despite the current suspension of the season, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper reports that no members of staff or the playing squad have shown any symptoms of COVID-19 but Leeds are constantly assessing the situation and are ready to change their approach if necessary.

It is understood that there is a cleaning team in operation at Thorp Arch at all times and the Yorkshire club believes that keeping their squad in a controlled environment is the best approach to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

Other clubs in the Championship have taken a different approach to Leeds with Bristol City reportedly sending players home to train individually.

Some clubs have confirmed that members of their squads are in self-isolation after showing symptoms and that could be what Leeds are monitoring before any decision to disband their training is made.

But for now, it is pretty much business as usual for Marcelo Bielsa and his players, who would have been playing against Cardiff today (Sunday) if the EFL had not suspension league action for the rest of March earlier this week.

It remains to be seen what is going to happen and while there is a lot of speculation, it is one of those things where we are just going to have to sit tight and wait and see what happens.
