Leeds set to announce £8m Phillips deal in days

Leeds are set to announce a new deal for Kalvin Phillips that could be worth as much as £8m.

That’s according to Football Insider, who have broken a fair number of Leeds exclusives recently.

All the evidence seems to suggest they’re correct too, with Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear saying the club was “very close” to securing the midfielder on a new long-term contract in an interview with the BBC last night.

This would be a huge boost for Leeds and would come just at the right time, with the club wallowing in its only defeat of the season so far against Swansea over the international break.

A new contract for our best player will give the fans and the whole squad a real boost ahead of the next Championship game against Barnsley.

It looks like by the time we play them, Phillips will have committed himself to Elland Road for another four years.
