Leeds set for extra £10million boost from USA Premier League rights – The Athletic

Leeds United could be set to receive a £10million boost next year should they remain in the Premier League this season.

The Athletic have reported that bids for USA broadcasting rights to show the Premier League live are ongoing and must be in by November.

It is suggested that it may cost up to $2billion [£1.46 billion] with all 20 clubs in the 2022/2023 season set to earn £10million of that.

The Premier League is not expecting to be short of offers either, meaning the money will likely be guaranteed to the 20 clubs.

Leeds, as well as the other 19 clubs were shown some “remarkable” numbers in the most recent shareholders meeting regarding this potential investment.

The likes of Disney, Amazon and NBC are expected to be big players in the race to secure the rights of the Premier League.

That could lead to a bigger price in the end, and eventually more windfall than the £10million expected next season.

Stay up.

It is simple, should Leeds stay up, they will get this major windfall.

Andrea Radrizzani has been backed heavily by the San Francisco 49ers in recent years, and that is expected to continue.

Phil Hay reported recently that more money from the NFL club is expected this season, and if not then, then at the end of the campaign.

That would likely see them become majority investors in the club, something that would do the Whites no harm in attracting more American investment.

Having said that, Marcelo Bielsa will need to do his job and keep us in this division, something that may need January signings looking at the current state of the squad.
