Leeds ready to outbid Sevilla to sign left-back Javi Galan
Leeds United are ready to outbid Sevilla in their efforts to sign Huesca left-back Javi Galan, according to Radio Huesca.
Due to Huesca’s relegation from La Liga this season, Galan’s release clause has been reduced to €4million (£3.4million) but Champions League side Sevilla are not willing to pay that much.
It is understood that Leeds, however, are ready to trigger Galan’s release clause as Radio Huesca says that “the latest known information reveals a strong interest” from the Yorkshire club.
Cheap and quick deal?
If Leeds want to get their left-back situation resolved as soon as possible then they might as well make a move for Galan.
For £3.4million, he represents a massive bargain after an impressive season at Huesca despite their relegation from La Liga.
The 26-year-old Spaniard made 37 appearances this term for the relegated club, scoring one goal – which came against Real Madrid – and supplying two assists in the process.
He’s an attack-minded full-back who loves to move the ball up the pitch and beat defenders.
In fact, stats by WhoScored show that only Lionel Messi averaged more dribbles per league appearance than the Leeds-linked ace this season in La Liga.
Marcelo Bielsa loves an attack-minded full-back and with Ezgjan Alioski’s contract situation yet to be clarified, Galan could be a very good addition to this squad.
Let’s just hope he doesn’t prefer a move to Sevilla though because we can see why he’d be interested in joining a Champions League club.
