Leeds promotion chances shift in supercomputer prediction after Sheff United win
Sheffield United secured a statement victory against Coventry City on Friday night, with Leeds in need of a win against Swansea.
Now at the business end of the season, it is imperative that Leeds return to the form that brought them plenty of success earlier in the campaign.
Just one win in their last four has allowed Burnley and Sheffield United to gain ground in the promotion race ahead of the final run-in.
The Blades’ win against the Sky Blues temporarily took them to the summit of the Championship, though if Leeds can secure victory against Swansea, they will reclaim their spot at the top of the division.

Daniel Farke needs to deliver promotion this season
Leeds are under serious pressure to ensure that they are playing Premier League football next season, having once looked as though they had all but sealed their return after the win against the Blades just a few weeks ago.
However, form since then has nosedived for the Whites, and unless that can be rectified, it could very well end up being a playoff campaign for Daniel Farke’s side.
Championship | W | D | L | P |
Sheffield United | 26 | 7 | 6 | 83 |
Leeds | 23 | 11 | 4 | 80 |
Burnley | 21 | 15 | 2 | 78 |
Thankfully, despite Sheffield United’s win on Friday night, Leeds remain on course to secure a top-two finish according to the latest Opta supercomputer predictions ahead of their clash with the Welsh outfit.
Their chances of winning the title have dropped to 54.16 per cent, though they remain the clear favourite to achieve that, while having an 86.38 per cent chance of finishing in the automatic promotion places.
With such a limited number of games remaining, the race will be extremely tight, with Leeds forecasted to finish top by just one point.

Leeds need to return to their best
Promotion is still on the cards for Leeds, even if they fail to win against Swansea City.
However, if that were to happen, they would be relying on the teams around them dropping points to cement their place back in the Premier League.
With players like Ao Tanaka, Joel Piroe and Dan James, Leeds need their key assets to be at the top of their game for the final eight games.
