Leeds preparing improved offer for Brenden Aaronson after initial £15million bid rejected

Leeds United have made Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson their number one target for this month, according to the Daily Mail.

The USA international midfielder, 21, ticked the boxes on their ideal profile and is keen to move to the Premier League in order to work with Marcelo Bielsa.

However, the Austrian giants are reluctant to sell Aaronson this month and have rejected the Whites initial bid of just over £15million, with the Elland Road outfit now preparing an improved offer.

Ideal player

The American is also attracting attention from Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund but a move to Leeds appeals, and the west Yorkshire outfit will really hope that can play a part in convincing Salzburg to do business with them.

With four goals to his name in 15 games for his country, Aaronson’s attacking abilities despite playing centrally for club could come in very handy for a Whites squad generally struggling in front of goal.

Leeds were looking to go for loan deals this month, and had no plans to splash the cash, but their injuries have forced their hands and they want to land the youngster.

His style and high energy would be an ideal fit for them, and his performances keep alerting scouts across the continent.

Aaronson’s high intensity running statistics are among the best in Europe, and given Marcelo Bielsa’s style of play, it is not a surprise that his club are keen.

It appears the feeling is mutual, and snapping such a talented player up right now will be massive.
