Leeds’ Premier League relegation chances predicted by supercomputer after Tottenham loss

Leeds were unfortunate to come away from their clash with Tottenham without points on Saturday.

Noah Okafor’s controversial equaliser looked to have gotten Leeds a point, but they could not respond to Mohammed Kudus’ second-half strike.

The 2-1 loss to Thomas Frank’s side is not a disaster for Daniel Farke and Co, but they need to ensure that Elland Road is a fortress.

Leeds have started the season brilliantly, sitting four points above the drop zone, after picking up two wins and two draws from their opening seven games.

Leeds predicted to narrowly stay in the Premier League

Leeds’ ultimate goal is to avoid relegation from the Premier League, and they may well be on course for that.

The latest Opta supercomputer prediction, from 6 October, has the Whites finishing in 17th place in the division, narrowly avoiding relegation.

The outlet gives Farke’s side a 33.93 per cent chance of being relegated back to the Championship after the loss to Spurs.

West Ham, Burnley and Wolves are predicted to go down, with Leeds clinging onto their top-flight status.

It is far to soon for Leeds fans to start celebrating

No supporters in LS11 will be thinking that survival is already a foregone conclusion.

The Peacocks need to keep picking up points, and ensure that it is mathematically impossible that they can go back down by the time that the season comes to the concluding stages.

However, it has been an encouraging start, and the latest supercomputer reveal proves that, as the Whites are predicted to stay up.

That is the ambition, then they can build on their status, after making themselves a top-flight regular, rather than spending time as a yo-yo club between the divisions.

The data suggests that they are going in the right direction, but they need to maintain that, rather than getting comfortable and becoming complacent with their current position.
