Leeds player who Daniel Farke raved about vs Tottenham confirms he won’t be at Turf Moor

Leeds United have a massive opportunity to put more distance between themselves and the Premier League relegation zone when they face Burnley.

Daniel Farke’s side are four points above the dotted line ahead of Leeds’ trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Leeds could be without a number of players against Burnley through injury, with Willy Gnonto among the absentees.

Opta’s supercomputer makes Burnley the slight favourites to beat Leeds, but Farke’s men will make the trip to Lancashire confident of picking up another big result.

However, Leeds will have to do so without another first-team player.

Noah Okafor sends message to Leeds fans after being ruled out

Noah Okafor was always expected to miss the match at Turf Moor, and the summer signing has now confirmed as much via his personal Instagram account.

Okafor posted an image of himself celebrating a goal, with a praying hand emoji and a caption that simply reads: “Back soon”.

While it is unclear how long Okafor is expected to be on the sidelines, Farke will certainly want him back up to full speed as soon as possible.

Speaking after Leeds’ 2-1 loss to Tottenham before the international break, Farke raved about Okafor’s goalscoring performance and said the winger was one of the positives to come out of the defeat.

Okafor is joined on the sidelines by Gnonto, while Daniel James is another big doubt for the showdown with Burnley.

How will Leeds line up without Okafor?

Okafor started and indeed scored in the Spurs match last time out, leaving a void to be filled on the left-hand side.

James is another fitness doubt and, even if he does make the squad, he will surely not be risked from the start.

It means Brenden Aaronson and Jack Harrison could get the nod out wide, with the latter potentially coming in for his first league start since returning from his prolonged Everton loan.

Harrison has 65 goal involvements for Leeds, but he has not added to that in the league this season having been restricted to just substitute appearances so far.

Whoever starts, coming away from Turf Moor with at least a point is imperative for Farke and his charges.
