Leeds optimistic on Nahitan Nandez deal after Bielsa request – Galetti
Leeds United are still optimistic over completing a deal for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.
That’s according to Calciomercato journalist Rudy Galetti, who has reported that Marcelo Bielsa has specifically requested the signing.
Despite conflicting reports for the past two weeks, talks are said to be ongoing between the two parties.

Reports from England have suggested that Nandez isn’t on the radar of Victor Orta, but the Italian side keep insisting this one could happen.
Writing on his personal Twitter account in the past 24 hours, Galetti shared the major update on this so-called pursuit.
“Nandez update,” he wrote.
“Talks between Leeds and Cagliari continue. There is optimism about the success of the deal for the Uruguayan midfielder, expressly requested by Bielsa.”
Unlikely.
The more this story continues, the more it appears as though the Italian media are more than guaranteeing it will happen.
Bielsa was also said to have requested the signing of Matheus Cunha, but Graham Smyth shut that one down very quickly this week.
Nandez is clearly a player that is shining on the big stage, given his release clause is around the £30million mark, but if the Whites wouldn’t pay that for Rodrigo De Paul, this one would look silly.
Orta is being smart with his business, looking for cheap deals for exciting players, just look at Junior Firpo after there was a hint he was available from Barcelona.
The Whites won’t be throwing cash around everywhere this summer, and Nandez is one of those who would instantly demand big money.
Optimism or not, it would be a shock if this move happened.
